    About Me

My name is Deja Richardson, and I’ve always felt called to support and uplift young people, especially those who deserve to feel seen, heard, and understood. Growing up in Detroit and being part of a big family taught me early on how to show up for others, and that naturally grew into a passion for helping young adults navigate real‑life challenges and major transitions.

I’m a Master of Social Work intern focusing on youth empowerment, life‑readiness, and trauma‑informed support.

I complete my internship under the supervision of LMSW De’Nisha Beasley, whose guidance helps me stay grounded, ethical, and intentional in the work I do.

Whether I’m leading a group, planning a milestone experience, or walking alongside a young adult as they figure out their next steps, I show up with compassion, honesty, and respect. My goal isn’t to “fix” anyone, it’s to empower you, help you recognize your own strength, and support you as you build the tools you need to move forward with confidence

Transitioning into adulthood isn’t easy, especially when you’re carrying responsibilities, expectations, or experiences that most people don’t understand.

My work is rooted in helping young adults ages 18–24 build confidence, independence, and a life that feels like their own. Whether you’re navigating housing, school, work, relationships, or healing from your past, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

     MY STORY

I’ve been where you are, and I’m still growing, too

I grew up as the oldest of 19 siblings, carrying responsibilities long before I was ready. I didn’t get to be a kid, and I didn’t always have the space to make mistakes or figure out who I was. But those experiences shaped me, not by breaking me, but by teaching me resilience, empathy, and strength.

Today, I’m in my Master of Social Work program and interning at the Center for Restorative Services and Solutions, where I support efforts to restore healthy relationships and provide human trafficking prevention services. I juggle school, work, and life just like many of the youth I serve. I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, to push through, and to still choose growth.

My journey is rooted in therapy, self-reflection, and learning how to show up for myself. And now, I use that same wisdom to show up for others.

     WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

Because your story isn't over. It’s unfolding.

Young adults deserve support that is:

Non-judgmental, Realistic, Trauma-informed, & Rooted in lived experiences.
